About the role

  1. Scope of Position:

Assist Controller in increasing company profitability by studying and improving the systems which track and report financial data, and by creating, studying and improving the systems that drive, interpret and analyze management information systems.

  1. Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

  • Lead the preparation of weekly and quarterly forecasts, ensuring alignment with company targets and financial objectives.
  • Analyze variances between actual and forecasted results, providing insights and recommendations to management for corrective actions.
  • Drive profitability by using financial data to support decision-making and optimize financial performance across the organization.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets, projections, and long-term financial plans.

Financial Reporting & Forecasting:

  • Coordinate and prepare monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial reporting.
  • Manage the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and the preparation of financial reports for management review.
  • Monitor and report on key financial and operational metrics, providing actionable insights for improving business performance.

Operational Support:

  • Partner with Department Managers and the General Manager to provide financial and operational analysis to drive business decisions.
  • Support the financial administration of suppliers and ensure the timely processing of accounts payable and receivable.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement:

  • Monitor and enhance internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement efficient financial systems.
  • Promote and apply Kaizen principles to drive continuous improvement in financial operations.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment of financial goals.

Other Duties:

  • Perform other duties as required, including special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  1. Key Relationships
  • Collaborates with Department Managers, the General Manager, and the Financial Controller to provide timely and accurate financial and operational insights.
  • Present financial data to senior management to help make data-driven decisions that improve profitability.
  • Engages with external auditors, suppliers, customers, and government bodies for reporting purposes.
  1. Basic Requirements:
  • CPA designation (required).
  • 4+ years of financial analysis experience, with a strong background in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Experience working in a project-driven, manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and other financial modeling tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in a Big 4 accounting firm
