About the role
Café Attendant The Club is nestled in the heart of Edmonton’s lush river valley, where we offer the best-in-class recreational programming. We are now looking for a part-time Cafe Attendant who is friendly, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. Whether working in our Royal Café or Hot Shots Café our Cafe Attendants exhibit strong organizational skills with a fun and engaging energy.
Responsibilities
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts.
- Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and washing dishes, to keep equipment and facilities sanitary.
- Scrub and polish counters, steams tables, and other equipment, and clean glasses, dishes, and fountain equipment.
- Prepare bills for food, using cash register and accept payment or make change.
- Brew coffee and tea, and fill containers with requested beverages.
- Prepare food items, such as sandwiches, salads, and ice cream dishes, using standard formulas or following directions.
- Replenish food items at serving stations.
- Balance receipts and payments in cash registers.
- Take customers' orders and write ordered items
- Deliver orders to kitchens and pick up and serve food when it is ready.
- Order items needed to replenish supplies.
Requirements
- Experience in the restaurant/cafeteria service industry is an asset;
- 1 year customer service experience
- Must have a valid ProServe certificate
- Fundamental understanding of sanitation and cleanliness;
- Requires moderate physical effort. Standing, carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, lifting of weights up to 50 lbs;
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, and e-mail.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with a team.
- Must be self-motivated and able to problem solve effectively.
