Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager of Information & Communication Technology, the ICT Application Analyst will be part of a team responsible for supporting Meditech and other clinical applications, interfaces, and integrations with external partners and services.

This role is for an accomplished regulated healthcare provider with experience in clinical practice, adult education, facilitation, change management and health information systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure implementation design decisions address cross functional needs that meet best practice standards
  • Provide end-user support for hospital applications and systems
  • Work closely with end users to understand workflow changes and issues that require analysis and resolution
  • Support and maintain Meditech application dictionaries and configurations
  • Provide technical support for various external interfaces and integrations to 3rd party systems and partner sites
  • Review, schedule, test, implement and document any system modifications, upgrades or application changes
  • Participate in the evaluation of new hardware or software solutions
  • Provide coverage withing the application analyst team for backup support
  • Provide support and education to end users of clinical systems in order to ensure appropriate, effective and safe use and understanding of clinical applications

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Nursing or other Clinical discipline preferred, would consider candidates with equivalency in education and experience)

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hospital experience with a good understanding and working knowledge of Hospital Information Systems (experience with Meditech preferred
  • Experience in Hospital Information System project implementation and support an asset

Mandatory Competencies

  • Ability to work independently and within multifunctional or multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, project milestones or timelines and deliverables
  • Strong trouble shooting, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • Safety (patient, worker & workplace) is a BCHS Corporate Priority. The successful applicant will demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions.
  • Reliable individual with excellent attendance record and able to participate in afterhours planned downtimes/afterhours application support
