About the role
We're seeking a Senior Database Administrator (RQ10410) for the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. This onsite role provides expert Oracle DBA support for mission-critical OPS infrastructure with 10+ years experience managing Oracle 12c/19c/21c+, Exadata, RAC, GoldenGate across 247 business days, delivering 99.5%+ availability through advanced scripting (SQL/VBScript/PowerShell/Python) and complex database administration. Location: 222 Jarvis St., Toronto, Ontario (Onsite - 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, Mon-Fri)
Start Date: April 1, 2026
End Date: March 31, 2027
Duration: 247 business days (Probable extension after initial mandate)
Hours: 7.25 hours per day
Security Level: CRJMC
Must Haves (10+ Years Each): Oracle DBA (30%):
- Oracle DB architecture/installation/upgrade/patching: 12c, 19c, 21c+
- Exadata, Oracle RAC, Oracle GoldenGate, Oracle Analytics Server
Scripting Knowledge (15%):
- SQL, VBScript, PowerShell, Python
Key Responsibilities
- Complex database management/patching/monitoring
- Oracle RAC installation/configuration (Exadata/Solaris/Linux)
- Oracle GoldenGate configuration/administration
- Oracle 19c multitenant (premise/cloud), 12c→19c upgrades
- Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM 13.4) report creation/customization
- Incident/problem/change management via BMC Remedy eSMT
- Technical leadership for mid-sized projects
Experience And Skill Set Requirements Troubleshooting/Debugging (10%):
- 10+ years database design flaw identification/correction
OS Knowledge (5%):
- Windows, Linux, Unix working knowledge
Communication/Collaboration (5%):
- SharePoint Online, MS Teams, Microsoft O365 tools proficiency
- Networker/NetBackup scripting experience
Tools Knowledge (5%):
- Oracle Enterprise Manager, Remedy infrastructure monitoring
Technical Scope
- OPS Plan FY25-26 projects delivery
- 99.5%+ infrastructure/database/application availability
- Complete incident/problem/change documentation
- Automation reports development with stakeholders
