Buyer – Calgary, AB

Position: Buyer I Location: Onsite, Calgary, AB T2P 0G4 Start Date: ASAP Schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off Pay Rate: $40.00/hour + 4% vacation pay About the Role We are currently seeking a Buyer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. This role is ideal for an early-career procurement professional looking to gain valuable experience in purchasing equipment, materials, chemicals/catalysts, and services across multiple business lines. The successful candidate will support daily purchasing activities, manage requisitions and purchase orders, coordinate with vendors, and assist in ensuring efficient procurement operations.

Key Responsibilities

Process a queue of requisitions and convert them into purchase orders daily. Obtain written quotations and proposals from vendors as required. Conduct basic negotiations related to pricing and general terms and conditions. Resolve invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders and goods receipts. Approve invoice payments for applicable freight costs not included on purchase orders. Collaborate with Strategic Buyers on project-related and turnaround purchases, including bundle opportunities. Support timely processing and payment of vendor invoices. Maintain purchase orders by updating delivery dates, PO text, and other order details as required. Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
