POSITION TITLE: Licensing Compliance Specialist
REPORTS TO: Manager, Licensing
LOCATION: Virtual in Montreal Area
LANGUAGE: French & English
OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:
Ensure assigned business establishments hold appropriate licenses for public performance of music. Contact music users to verify compliance opportunities through telephone calls and emails in order to achieve specific compliance targets. This position requires a high degree of organisation in order to conduct and document compliance activities based on established guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generateand qualifyexisting and new compliance leads to licence public music usage.
- Contact establishmentsmainlyby telephoneand email to ensure music users acquire the proper legal licence(s). Collect licensing fees in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly with potential licensees in order to raise awarenessand to provide outstanding customer service
- Educate businesses on legal copyright / licensing requirements.
- Answer incoming licensing requests via phone & email, according to the established business unit timelines.
- Documentallcompliance activities.
- Other duties as required
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- 3 to 5 years experience in sales/marketing/collections
- University or College degree or diploma in business, music, or other related field
- Knowledge of music, copyright and licensing industries a strong asset
- Customer service experience
- Outstanding communication skills
- Good knowledge of MS Word and Excel, Outlook and social media platforms.
- Outstanding organizational, self management and time-management skills
