A little about our Education & Training Division

At Mothercraft, we are dedicated to providing exceptional childcare and early learning experiences that promote healthy development for all families. The Education and Training Division includes Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education and training department. Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education offers a twelve (12) month, four-semester, accelerated and intensive diploma program in Early Childhood Education. The Mothercraft Diploma in Early Childhood Education is recognized by the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) and is a Registered Career College with the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Research Excellence and Security (MCURES). Mothercraft also offers professional training for individuals and groups in the early learning and early years sectors as well as training programs related to Home Based Child Care.

Job summary

As our newest Receptionist/Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing administrative support to Mothercraft's College of Early Childhood Education.

Reporting to the Manager, Admissions and Registration, you'll work alongside a team of dedicated educators and faculty staff, collaborating to provide the highest education for students and professionals. Sound exciting? Here's a little more...

As a Receptionist/Administrative Assistant, you will…

  • Greet guests, students, service providers, and Mothercraft staff
  • Operate buzzer, screen, and maintain client and guest entry, as well as monitor sign in/our sheet for all staff and visitors
  • Monitor and reply to general email inquiries received in the College and Admissions inboxes
  • Maintain front office appearance and replenish forms/promotional materials, as needed
  • Process payments (e.g. tuition fees, printing fees, course registration) via POS terminal and issue acknowledgment of payment
  • Prepare student ID cards and assist students with lab printing access, as directed
  • Maintain communication with all college Faculty and Course Instructors
  • Assist with program registration (e.g. Home-based program and professional workshops), track registrant information, and prepare attendance lists, as necessary
  • Manage and reconcile daily revenue and student revenue reports to send to the Finance department
  • Manage room booking requests and meeting requests (internal and external) and coordinate resources required to room bookings
  • Order and maintain general office supplies, stationery, and equipment, as required
  • Liaise with appropriate manager(s) and individuals regarding facility management, any equipment repairs, and housekeeping needs

You will be set up for success if you have...

  • Three-year community college diploma or equivalent experience in related field. Degree in Administration is an asset
  • 2-5 years of office experience and customer service experience; experience in an educational institution is an asset
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Reference Check
