How You Will Contribute

  • Perform advanced debugging at the PCBA level, optical level, and fully assembled modules.
  • Deliver detailed status reports and updates to Ciena teams regarding product repair and testing progress.
  • Execute testing procedures across various product lines as required.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming boards, ensuring work focus aligns with shifting priorities.
  • Document and report debug activities using internal database tools, emphasizing accuracy and clarity.
  • Identify and analyze trends in field failures to inform proactive solutions.
  • Maintain product repair schedules, addressing any roadblocks or challenges, and ensure WIP (Work in Progress) remains on track.
  • Collaborate with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) and R&D design teams to optimize repair and testing processes.

The Must Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Production Engineering, or a 3-year Engineering Technologist diploma.
  • 2-5+ years of hands-on experience in debug engineering.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities with a proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and global CMs to support NPI (New Product Introduction) tasks.

Nice to Haves

  • Expertise in optical fiber fusion splicing.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Oracle systems.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering collaboration and improvement.

Pay Range:

The salary range for this role is $62, 700 - $123, 100

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
