Position Overview:

Join Finning and play a key role in planning and scheduling component rebuilds across our Component Rebuild Center. This position offers:

As a Component Rebuild Planner, you’ll develop detailed production plans, manage capacity and inventory, and ensure alignment with customer demand and corporate targets. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong analytical and organizational skills, this is a role for you!

For this position, the expected base salary range is between $80,000 and $100,000 annually. We also offer additional incentives such as an annual bonus and premium for certain shifts.

Job Description:

  • Create and maintain production plans for component rebuilds across multiple bays and shared resources.
  • Schedule work orders for wash, blast, disassembly, inspection, assembly, testing, and paint/pack stages.
  • Balance Repair & Return (R&R) and Exchange rebuilds while optimizing inventory and capacity.
  • Collaborate with Production, Materials, Tech Services, and Customer Service to validate plans and ensure feasibility.
  • Monitor flow of Exchange cores and escalate outstanding issues to maintain WIP velocity.
  • Communicate priorities, expected ship dates, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Generate and distribute plan attainment reports and update dashboards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Assign production and promise dates, priorities, and bay allocations in the operating system.
  • Attend tiered meetings and planning sessions to review progress and adjust schedules.
  • Update system data daily to ensure accuracy and visibility.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on throughput, capacity, and backlog.
  • Coordinate with transportation teams for equipment and component movement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in special projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in production planning or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of planning, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel) and familiarity with M3 or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Experience with remanufacturing processes and CAT product knowledge is an asset.

Important:

  • This position will be based out of our Kamloops location.
  • Permanent, full-time role.
  • Monday – Friday, 5x2 schedule.
