The Performance Data Analyst position reports to the Leader, Performance Reporting. The Performance Reporting section is responsible for delivering cross-corporate reports on The City's progress to Council and Calgarians. The Performance Reporting team oversees and facilitates the data collection, analysis, writing and report review and approvals process by collaborating with all service excellence teams and business units accountable for the delivery of services that are most important to Calgarians. Primary Duties include:

  • Manage the technical components of a new corporate performance data hub designed to improve data collection, storage, approval processes and corporate reporting efficiency.
  • Explore technical solutions for automation to streamline data workflows and integrate different data systems with the hub.
  • Engage in system testing to ensure functionality of the hub and usability to meet business requirements. Resolve technical issues as needed.
  • Maintain and update training materials to reflect the latest system enhancements and process changes.
  • Support continuous improvement and future development of the hub.
  • Collaborate with business clients, project teams, and IT to understand business needs and translate them into technical and functional requirements.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reports to support business decision-making.
  • Develop user interfaces for data entry such as Microsoft Power Apps and other tools.
  • Assist in collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Help prepare clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Provide project and research support to project managers.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a computer science, information technology, business analytics or a related program is required for this role.
  • At least 3 years of experience with data platforms and systems, including database management, for business applications.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SharePoint, Power Applications, Power Automate and Power BI.
  • Knowledgeable in business and data analytics and have expertise in understanding common business performance concepts, such as performance measurement.
  • Success in this position requires critical thinking and problem solving with effective communication and customer service skills, and the ability to build productive working relationships with diverse groups.

Workstyle

  • This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. Such arrangements are based on the operational requirements of the position and employee suitability and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 9 $40.18 - $53.76 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
