We are seeking a candidate for the position of Production Editor/Designer in Trois-Rivières to support our digital production. You will report to the Senior Manager, News & Current Affairs for the Mauricie and Centre-du-Québec regions.

Your role

To fill this role, we are seeking a versatile, highly creative candidate with strong experience in video design and digital production.

As a Production Editor/Designer, you will design and produce digital audio and video content, bringing original, unique added value to the job in order to fulfil the required objectives and editorial intentions. This position requires someone with initiative as well as the ability to work well in a team and under pressure, while maintaining excellent working relationships with your colleagues. You must also have excellent knowledge of the digital media landscape (content and formats).

More specifically, you will perform the following tasks:

  • Design and establish the technical and artistic components making up the editing and visual effects for digital content to suit production needs.
  • Fulfil the required graphic-design objectives for digital product.
  • Present the product to the relevant people per the agreed milestones; assist in its evaluation to identify potential improvements and provide guidance through to final delivery.
  • Contribute to all planning and production phases of products so as to grasp the required objectives.
  • Develop and conceive photography and visual effects via framing and original camera shots.
  • Prepare, transport, install, adjust and operate cameras, as well as related audio equipment, in order to shoot programs; ensure adequate image composition and camera movement.
  • Consult with and advise technical and production staff on the best methods for achieving technical and artistic results.
  • Develop, design and execute lighting and sound if applicable.
  • Evaluate and control technical quality in all of your activities and deliverables.
  • Listen to, view and select audio and video clips along with visual elements; adapt their format for digital delivery; order stock imagery; take still photos as needed.
  • Post the produced content on the appropriate platforms.

The schedule for this position is from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday. You will also be responsible for taking the Toujours le matin radio morning show to air. Training on the use of the radio console will be provided as needed.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • College diploma (DSC) or equivalent
  • Three (3) years’ experience in a relevant field
  • Valid driver’s licence

Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of the digital news production cycle
  • Knowledge of production techniques
  • Strong experience in video shooting and editing
  • Experience in digital graphic design
  • Solid understanding of all media platforms
  • Solid command of French
  • Strong versatility and creativity
  • Ability to work well under pressure and independently
  • Ability to take initiative and be flexible
  • Penchant for teamwork and ability to maintain respectful relationships with your colleagues
