About the role

Position Overview:

The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst plays a pivotal role in bridging business objectives with data-driven insights. You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data, generating actionable insights, and supporting strategic decision-making across our operations. This role combines deep analytical expertise with business acumen to improve processes, drive efficiencies, and support the performance of our branch network nationwide.

This is a hybrid position. The successful candidate must be flexible and willing to go into their local branch periodically.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Collect, clean, and analyze structured and unstructured data from multiple sources (including ERP, CRM, financial, and operational systems).
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI for executives, sales teams, and branch leaders.
  • Ingest and structure data within the data lake for optimal use across reporting tools.
  • Translate complex data sets into meaningful trends, forecasts, and recommendations.

Business Process Improvement

  • Identify inefficiencies across business processes and develop data-driven solutions to improve performance.
  • Support automation of recurring reports and manual data processes.
  • Design and implement integrated reporting solutions that provide real-time insights into sales performance, customer trends, and operational KPIs.

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Sales, and IT to gather reporting requirements.
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications for dashboards, reports, and data models.
  • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to ensure data solutions meet user needs.

Strategic Insight & Problem Solving

  • Analyze complex business problems and present clear, actionable insights to leadership.
  • Support key decision-making through fact-based reporting and scenario modeling.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives aimed at revenue growth, cost efficiency, and customer experience.

Project Leadership

  • Lead and participate in data and reporting projects, from inception through execution.
  • Manage timelines, priorities, and stakeholder expectations to ensure timely delivery.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to promote a data-informed culture.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of analytics best practices across the organization.

Policy & Governance

  • Help define and implement data governance practices, ensuring consistency, quality, and security of information assets.
  • Support compliance with internal and external data reporting standards.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, or process improvement roles, preferably in a multi-location or service-based industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient with data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Excel).
  • Familiarity with data storage and ETL tools (Data Lakes, SQL, Power Automate).
  • Experience with ERP and CRM systems (experience with Sage/Intact is an asset).
  • Comfortable working with large data sets and relational databases.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of key performance metrics in operational and financial contexts.
  • Proactive, curious, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.
