THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director and Manager of Event Operations, the Supervisor, Event Operations (Foundation & Special Projects) will be responsible for the daily coordination and execution of special events on behalf of the Flames Foundation, special events as it pertains to the Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Planning and execution of annual Calgary Flames Foundation marquee events, such as Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament and Flames Ambassadors Charity Poker Tournament.

• Support with the planning and execution of CSEC special events at the Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium (Season Ticket Member events, Fan Engagement events, etc.)

• Support with the execution of CSEC team related celebration events at the Scotiabank Saddledome and McMahon Stadium (ie: NHL Playoffs, NLL Final, CFL Semi & Finals, Player Retirements, etc.)

• Coordinate and serve as onsite Supervisor with external vendors as it relates to Foundation related events and Special Events including site visits, event load-in, day of execution, and post event strike.

• Coordinate with internal departments on event logistics and requirements related to Foundation related events and Special Events.

• Work in conjunction with Building Operations on conversion, security, ushering, production schedules, housekeeping and other related areas as it pertains to Foundation related events and Special Events.

• Produce all event related documents pertaining to the execution of event logistics (event briefs, floorplans, building permits, electrical requirements, event rentals, décor, F&B requirements, etc.)

• Assist the Manager, Event Operations with development of critical paths, workback schedules, roles, and responsibilities to ensure all special events and projects are on task.

• Provide coordination of pageantry, directional signage and print materials required for Foundation related events and Special Events.

• Coordinate with Game Presentation and Broadcast departments on the development of event agenda, run of show, scripting, video element for Foundation related events and special events as required.

• Coordinate sponsorship contract elements are delivered and executed as it pertains to Foundation related events and Special Events.

• Responsible for all event detailing, work orders, task assignments within VenueOps as it pertains to assigned events.

• Coordinate with CSEC Health & Safety personnel to ensure event sites are complying with company protocols and emergency procedures.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal individual will have the following background:

• 1-3 years' experience organizing and on-site execution of special events

• Diploma or post-secondary education with event planning and management is considered as asset

• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment

• Must be available to work evenings and weekends.
