About the role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Theatre and Entertainment team. This position will be reporting to the Theatre Entertainment and Booking Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Box Office, Ticketmaster Events, Client/Guest Ticketing support along with other required theatre administration support.

Duties and responsibilities for our Box Office Manager will include:

  • Represent the Company in a helpful, Courteous, and professional and customer service oriented manner.
  • Make routine decisions for Box Office, based on set guidelines and procedures.
  • Receiving, tracking and responding to customer inquiries and working with the appropriate internal teams to ensure action is taken.
  • Accountable for Box Office reports and general maintenance of needed supplies (example: ticket stock).
  • Accountable for maintaining the required Ticketmaster equipment for events (scanners, printers, etc.).
  • Development of new Ticketmaster Event listings; Manage and maintain existing event listings and settlements.
  • Responsible for Merchandise settlements (when applicable).
  • Manage general maintenance and cleanliness of Box Office areas; report any health and safety concerns to management.
  • Perform administrative duties as requested to support operational needs for theatres.
  • L iaise with Sales and Event Managers to ensure that adequate staffing resources are available; Roster Box Office employees to ensure business needs are met, taking into consideration both agreed service levels and budgetary costs.
  • Coordinate learning and development needs of Box Office employees, ensuring capability and confidence with all features of Ticketmaster’s operative systems.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the guidelines, practices, rules, policies and procedures established by GCE and BCLC.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to accommodate and adapt to changing needs of the business in a highly pressured working environment. At the same time, proven ability to adhere to set guidelines and process adherence. Deal with higher-level complaints and recognize the need for flexibility where applicable.
  • Minimum two years computerized box office experience combined with one year of leadership experience.
  • Superior organization and problem-solving abilities plus demonstrated skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an outgoing personality in order to deal effectively with all internal and external contacts. Able to be diplomatic, yet assertive while monitoring staff for compliance to policy and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently orally and in writing.
  • Able to work independently and also collaborate as a strong team member.
  • Experience using the Ticketmaster platform (or equivalate ticketing platform); Knowledge of computerized ticket production and sales hardware and software, as well as database, spreadsheet, and standard PC software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of POS systems and reporting.
  • Ability to obtain GPEB through Independent Gambling Control Office
  • Strong understanding for finance reporting for event settlements.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
