About the role

The Data Office is aiming to accelerate data quality improvement efforts to help Desjardins Group further ground its business practices in data and analytics. The Data Quality Practice Department is looking for talented people to guide Desjardins as it grows in this area. As a senior data quality advisor, you help define and implement data quality management processes, allowing optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy policies and security in mind. You serve as a data quality specialist advisor and subject matter expert for various stakeholders, as well as a resource person for decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Help data producers and users understand how to measure the quality of their data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance.
  • Serve as a specialist advisor to teams in developing and applying data quality management processes and controls.
  • Raise awareness within business sectors about the importance of data quality and promote best practices that can be used in day-to-day activities.
  • Develop, operationalize and improve standards, processes, tools and best practices related to the foundations of data quality.
  • Work with core business teams to identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Design and maintain interactive and automated dashboards in Power BI.
  • Coordinate efforts to identify the sector’s data governance needs and opportunities.
  • Contribute to projects as a data quality management expert.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, information technology, statistics or a related field
  • A minimum of six years of relevant experience, including three years in a similar role
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in data governance, business intelligence, business analysis, auditing, compliance or data architecture
  • Experience in data analysis and/or data quality
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Proficiency in using analytics tools and applying them in a business environment
  • Proficiency in SQL to create and optimize complex requests
  • Knowledge of or interest in data governance or data quality management
