Supervisor, Training
About the role
The mandate of the Training, Supervisor is to provide the necessary resources and support required
to enable field personnel to meet all Redpath, client and legislative requirements relating to health
and safety in the workplace.

Provide Training and safety support as required to all Canadian based projects.

Lead and/or participate in workplace inspections and Redpath Safety Program audits at
Redpath projects.

Ensure that all project personnel are trained in their job responsibilities, understand and
comply with company policies and procedures.

Regularly audit the workforce to ensure that Employees are trained and certified to do the work
they are performing and ensure that training and certification is provided in areas where
workers require training or retraining.

Consult with the projects and safety superintendents on site specific training requirements.

Facilitate and support Canada Operations and America’s Safety Day.

Provide Fall Protection, and WHMIS training as required and forward all required training
records to North Bay.

Provide Redpath Supervisory training.

Develop and provide presentations for internal and external groups.

Lead and/or participate in serious Injury and incident investigations.

Facilitate and support with updating baseline risk assessments.

Provide support to project teams and assist in risk management training and facilitation.

Participate in new project safety start-ups.

Facilitate and support with Injury and Incident Analysis and Training.

Conduct Redpath specific training in the field, such as the Redpath Safety Program and the
Fatality Prevention Program.

Support Redpath field Safety Supervisors as a mentor and resource.

Regularly attend and participate in Ontario Mine Contractors Safety Association meetings.

Aid in the development and implementation of Redpath standard operating procedures.

Represent Redpath or the OMCSA on various industry technical advisory committees.
Education
Required: Diploma/Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field
Preferred: Degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene or related field, Member of the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals (BCRSP) or working toward designation as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM)
Work Experience:
Required: 5-10 years’ experience in mining health and safety capacity
Preferred: 10 years’ experience in mining with HSE experience. Experience in the development and delivery of health and safety training programs and procedures.
