Refinery Accounting Contractor Our Calgary client is seeking a part-time contract Refinery Accountant to support the monthly toll invoice review process. The successful candidate will participate in the Delivery Month Review, assist with financial reporting and MD&A preparation, and support action items from operational and sub-committee meetings.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Review monthly toll invoices, including detailed actual vs. budget spreadsheets across various cost categories tied to the Partnership books (with cost support maintained at the refinery).
• Conduct initial analysis of significant variances and collaborate with the Finance team to resolve discrepancies.
• Perform monthly testing of source documents for high-value expenditures (e.g., property tax, insurance).
• Participate in the Delivery Month Review process related to the toll statement package issued to toll payers by the 10th of each month.
• Support the Finance team by addressing action items arising from monthly Operations meetings.
• Assist with follow-up items from Sub-committees as needed.
• Provide ongoing support to the Controller on ad hoc and recurring tasks.
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statement note disclosures and MD&A content.
• Review and monitor issues related to key partnership agreements (e.g., Partnership Agreement, CO₂ Royalty Agreement, Enhance Agreement).
• Perform audit procedures and contribute to internal control and compliance efforts.
