About the role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the job holder is responsible for the mechanical functioning of the process by executing preventative and non-preventative mechanical maintenance. He/she is a member of
the Leadership Team being responsible for the safety and technical operations of the mechanical maintenance department. Keeping the process equipment maintained and available for production and contributing to the establishment and maintenance of a safe workplace will contribute to the success of the company.
Your Tasks
- Ensure compliance with all health & safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Promote and support safety and quality programs as an active member of the Leadership Group
- Uphold safety reporting standards and drive continuous improvements in workplace safety
- Maintain and implement lockout/tagout procedures daily, ensuring completion of safe work permits and required documentation before commencing any work
- Maintain the process and building mechanical equipment in operation to ensure maximum availability to maximize production efficiency.
- Develop and implement a mechanical preventative maintenance program in SAP.
- Implement practical continuous improvement initiatives as appropriate to improve operating results.
- Perform daily workplace inspections to keep the maintenance department “audit ready” at all times.
- Coordinate the purchase of spare parts, tools, and mechanical maintenance supplies to ensure production needs are met.
- Monitor mechanical maintenance costs and operate within the established maintenance budget.
- Manage lifting device certification and repairs
- Coordinate/supervise external contractors as required
Your Profile
- Ontario Secondary school graduation diploma.
- University degree in mechanical discipline or trade certification
- Good skills in SAP and Microsoft Office
- 5-10 years Industrial maintenance supervisory experience
- Detail-oriented and able to work in a team environment
- Ability to recognize efficiency improvement opportunities
- Confident, collaborative personality
- Helpful and reliable work ethic to support a team-based environment
