New World-Class Hospital Currently under construction on the unceded traditional territory of the Quw’utsun People (Cowichan Tribes), the new Cowichan District Hospital is a testament to the deep partnerships and respectful collaboration that make the Cowichan Valley an exceptional place to live, work and learn. Slated to open in 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will be three times the size of the current hospital, with capacity for 204 beds. It will be British Columbia's first fully electric hospital, built to LEED Gold standards for environmental sustainability.
Designed with input from staff, patients, and Indigenous partners, the new hospital will offer an improved patient experience and promote provider wellness while maintaining a strong connection to the natural surroundings through thoughtful, healing design.
The Cowichan Valley Centrally located on beautiful Vancouver Island, B.C., Cowichan Valley communities range from charming seaside villages to bustling town centres near to the centrally located city of Duncan.
The Cowichan Valley is Canada's only Mediterranean climatic zone and boasts the warmest year-round temperatures in Canada. In fact, the word Cowichan in Hul’q’umi’num’ language is Quw’utsun, which translates to English as "the People of the Warm Land".

Qualifications
- Registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC)
- Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy program
- A valid British Columbia driver's license may be required for some positions
