SHIPPER/RECEIVER
Reporting to the Shipping Coordinator and Supervisor, the Shipper / Receiver must ensure all orders are assembled and ready to load according to shipping schedule and assist in loading and unloading trucks when necessary. The Shipper / Receiver will be responsible for following established food safety and quality procedures. Provisions may be made to cover the absence of an employee in this position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list of duties and responsibilities of the Shipper/Receiver is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities of the job described. Rather they are intended only to describe the general nature of the job. Other reasonable duties may be assigned as required.
- Ensure all customer orders are complete, documentation is correct and distributed and product is shipped according to delivery schedule, notifying Shipping Coordinator immediately of any shortages.
- Using an ERP computer system (DEACOM) as well as a handheld scanner to accept raw material/finished products to a location, input production (finished goods) and de-issue products after production is complete.
- Having product location knowledge, selects, assembles and transports to loading dock according to shipping schedule. Ensure product rotation – first in, first out.
- Responsible for slotting all frozen products and dry goods in a careful and timely manner.
- Operate forklift (Counterbalance or Narrow Aisle) to stack skids.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring shipping documentation is correct.
- Maintain and organize freezer and dock applying proper housekeeping standards and reporting all damages immediately.
- Report immediately to a supervisor if the forklift or hand truck is not working properly.
- Perform freezer inventory physical/cycle counts.
- Other duties as directed by Shipping Supervisor.

- Complete additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Prior experience working in a food production warehouse is considered an asset.
- High School Diploma or Grade 12 equivalent is often preferred.
- Proven proficiency with computer systems, RF scanners, and basic data entry.
- Strong organizational, mathematical and mechanical skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to create a team environment.
- Must possess and maintain a valid forklift license.
- Capability to physically lift up to 30 kg.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Part of the job is in temperature-controlled cold storage environments. Some receiving/loading might occur outdoors.
- The job is often physically demanding, requiring: Standing for long periods. Lifting of moderately heavy objects.
- Flexible work schedule including mornings, afternoons and weekends.
- Specific work areas may require PPE such as thermal wear, insulated safety footwear, or hearing protection (earmuffs).

Pay Rate: $21.65 to $22.65 per hour
