Position Title: Project Manager
Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Grade Level: 14
Full Salary Range: $91,783.74 - $137,675.62
Hiring Salary Range: $91,783.74 - $114,729.68 Primary Responsibilities The Project Manager is responsible for tracking, organizing, and coordinating projects across all departments of the credit union. This individual plays a critical role in aligning project execution with strategic priorities, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met. The Project Manager will collaborate with department leaders and cross-functional teams to maintain visibility and momentum on key initiatives. Duties must be accomplished in compliance with federal and state laws and in accordance with the credit union’s policies and procedures and with constant attention to CAFCU’s creed, vision, mission and goals.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee the enterprise-wide project portfolio, tracking status, resources, risks, and milestones.
- Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and communication plans for cross-functional initiatives.
- Facilitate project planning meetings and ensure project charters, scopes, and stakeholder expectations are clearly defined.
- Serve as a liaison between departments to ensure alignment, accountability, and transparency in project execution.
- Participate in vendor meetings, system reviews, and project planning to ensure alignment between technology and operational goals.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to help keep project milestones on target.
- Identify and escalate issues or risks that may impact project success or organizational priorities.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate progress and performance to executive leadership.
- Promote consistent use of project management best practices across the credit union.
- Support audits, exams, and internal reviews by providing clear, accurate records and evidence of due diligence.
- Maintain documentation related to project requirements, decisions, and lessons learned.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field – or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in financial services or a regulated industry.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects without direct supervisory authority.
- Experience using ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Service Desk Plus).
- Proficiency in the use and set-up of project/task platforms (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Project/Planner).
- PMP, ACP, Prince2, or similar certification strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to diplomatically manage competing priorities and timelines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience separating major/minor issues to allow projects to stay on schedule.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands in a dynamic environment.
