About the role
Position Overview This individual will be responsible for transporting parts and components from their location to the appropriate workstation. In addition, this person will need to keep up with demand and supply stations consistently until work order is complete. Qualified candidates will also learn all areas of warehouse receiving department so that they can be a back-up and well-rounded in everyday functions of the material handler for the factory.
This position works Day Shift: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Working to assist with shipping, receiving, and material handling between the warehouse and production facility
Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move materials and products
Safely load, unload, and stack products and materials – may be inside or outside of the facility
Delivers materials to various departments and between plant locations, utilizing electronic signals and/or KANBAN (visual controls) as to when materials are to move
Ensures work areas are kept clean and organized
Perform routine inspections and maintenance on forklifts and other equipment
Performs miscellaneous duties as required
Follows instructions and all safety procedures
Willingness to work as part of a team
Sense of urgency
Organized and accountable for work
Communicate well with others
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to work independently
Education And Professional Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent.
Must Have Previous Forklift Experience - Forklift Certified Preferred The ability to perform freight handling duties with a manual pallet jack/fork lift
The ability to follow instructions, either while working independently, or as part of a team
Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in a warehouse or production environment.
