About the role

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator for our Sidel Line will primarily be responsible for ensuring the Sidel Machine runs smoothly, functions within specification and produces the products that have been scheduled for the shift, while ensuring a quality product is produced and all safety requirements are followed.

Key activities

Responsible for the operation of high-speed aseptic equipment (Sidel Line). Ensure aseptic process follows required specifications. Perform inspection and machine operation: machine set up, adjustment, cleaning, line monitoring, handling materials according to standard operating procedures. Conduct various quality checks to ensure product meets proper specification. Conduct quality inspections and collect samples for QC testing. Monitor CIP, cleaning, and sanitation processes. Inspect raw materials, packaging materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Meet production targets and respond promptly to equipment alarms and operational issues. Troubleshoot equipment and perform basic maintenance and adjustments as required. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve performance. Follow start-up and shutdown procedures and ensure compliance with company policies, GMPs, and safety standards.

Required Training And Experience

High school diploma. Post-secondary education in Food Science or related field is preferred. Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry is preferred. Knowledge of GMP and safe food handling procedures (an asset).

Skills sought

Good verbal, reading and writing skills in English. Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot. Ability to multi-task, stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks. Comfortable with computers. Mechanically inclined and excellent math skills.
