Reporting to the Manager, Member Services and Delivery - Business Operations, the Specialist, Clearing Operations & Member Services is accountable for ensuring complete and timely processing of all workflows, as well as providing support for CDCC Clearing Members in areas such as:
- Communications, Partner Relations and Client Services;
- Management of Internal Policies & Procedures, Audits & Attestations and Incident Management;
- Projects & Initiatives;
- Operational Due Diligence including Reporting, Reconciliations & Analysis.
This role is responsible to maintain and update all Business Operations documentation related to the team’s operational due diligence including the internal Manual of Procedures, external Operations Manual, testing scripts, training material & workflow charts and other related items. The Specialist is responsible to execute timely reconciliations and analysis, verify configurations & user accesses and ensure proper reporting is submitted to internal partners. Additionally, this role is key in participating in program initiatives requiring operationalization of requirements prior to going live and ensuring a smooth transition to both the production team and Clearing Members.
This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare timely Communications that are professionally written and distributed to both internal and external stakeholders;
- Act as the point of contact for matters related to Collateral/Clearing/Banking & Settlements related to Derivatives (Futures & Options on Futures), OTC Fixed Income products, Corporate Actions including STP (straight-through-processing);
- Perform monthly reconciliations, compile statistics and complete analysis for review by the Manager and submission to internal stakeholders;
- Prepare annual audit files per requests by internal/external auditors;
- Build processes for new products and projects (including Onboarding new clients, performing testing, offering training, supporting Client Services, operationalizing initiatives and updating procedures);
- Support the Manager as a delivery lead for projects and initiatives and represent Business Operations;
- Support the Montreal Exchange with new products/listings;
- Provide guidance and solutions to internal teams and external clients;
- Recommend updates to existing processes, reporting and procedures to ensure excellent customer service, and that we operate in an efficient and effective environment.
- Maintain and update documentation for the Business Continuity Plan, Disaster Recovery Program, Default Simulation, Incident Management and related test scripts for CDCC exercises;
- Interact with Internal and External Audit, Regulators, Technology, Risk, and other internal and external stakeholders;
- Adhere strictly to internal procedures, rules, audit requirements and internal controls verification processes;
- Lead and assist with projects and special assignments including system configuration as required;
- Provide recommendations using professional judgement, guided by known practices;
- Support the Manager - Member Services and Delivery as required.
Education / Experience
- Post-Secondary education in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, and/or Accounting is preferred;
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in the Securities Financial Industry;
- Solid experience/knowledge in Operations processes or Securities Accounting in the Securities Financial Industry.
Skills
- Effective listening, written and verbal communication skills;
- Advanced technical and analytical skills and ability to propose operational solutions and collaborate on moderately complex problems specific to a project or assignment;
- Solid interpersonal and organization skills with the demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize;
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision, as well as a team player;
- Oriented to deliver with accuracy and clear & concise details in a time-sensitive environment;
- Advanced level of technical and analytical knowledge regarding Collateral, Banking and Clearing/Settlements processes, systems and capabilities.
- Strongly proficient with Google Suite, Excel and other desktop applications;
- Flexibility required to work in a time-sensitive environment with tight deadlines.
Salary Range: 80,000/year -90,000/year CAD
