We Invite Applications For The Position Of

  • We invite applications for the position of Delivery Person/Custodian (20 hours per week), Monday through Friday. The current rate of pay is $27.84 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
  • Grounds Equipment Operator (20 hours per week), Monday through Friday. The current rate of pay is $29.52 per hour plus 16.3% in lieu of benefits.
  • Please note this temporary position will end August 31, 2026 or upon return of the incumbent.

Delivery Person/Custodian

Qualifications Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of a Building Service Worker Certificate; current custodial experience and experience in a work-related field including operation of a medium to large delivery truck; ability to work with minimum direction and maintains co-operative working relationships with staff, students, and the public; valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and license appropriate to the type of equipment/vehicle being operated; working knowledge of the operation of fire and intruder alarm systems; meets the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties/Responsibilities Duties are performed under the supervision of the Manager Custodial/Delivery Services or designate, and in cooperation with school Principal or Vice Principal; functions in a variety of work categories including deliveries, custodial duties and general labourer duties; cleans by dusting, mopping, washing, vacuuming, polishing, brushing, disinfecting, and/or scrubbing all surfaces of furniture, equipment, floors, walls, glass, and other surfaces; cleans and maintains washrooms and shower rooms; maintains waxed or synthetic floor coverings; cleans light fixtures; replaces bulbs and tubes as required; cleans windows, both inside and out; operates necessary hand and power tools required in effective performance of duties; collects and disposes of waste as required; reports to Senior Custodian any signs of failure in buildings, fixtures, and furnishings; receives general instructions only, which requires the exercise of sound judgement as to the method of performing the work; assists in all aspects of maintaining district facilities, and to this end is expected to maintain a good working relationship with other employees; performs a variety of routine delivery tasks, such as pick-up and delivery of equipment and materials, mail, supplies, band equipment, new furniture, lighting, etc.; transports gymnastic equipment and stage sets throughout the district and maintains records of equipment location; provides leadership to summer students as required; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Grounds Person - Equipment Operator

Qualifications Grade 12 education and certifications in both backhoe and forklift operation; two years experience in the operation of construction equipment such as backhoe, forklift, dump truck, oversized trailer, etc.; ability to work with minimum direction and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, students, and public; valid Class 5 B.C. driver's license and license appropriate to the type of equipment/vehicle being operated; meets the physical requirements of the position including ability to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Duties And Responsibilities Duties performed under the supervision of the Manager of Operations or designate; functions in a variety of work categories including but not limited to: gardening, landscaping, irrigation, drainage systems, basic concrete forms and concrete handling delivery of equipment and supplies, operation of light equipment, general labour, and assisting other maintenance employees; primary duties relate to the operation of equipment consisting of but not limited to backhoes, tractors, mowers, plows, sanders, dump trucks, forklifts, delivery trucks, trailers, chainsaws, etc.; maintains, cleans and secures equipment being operated as outlined by district policies and procedures; receives general instructions only, which requires the exercise of sound judgement as to the method of performing the work; installs and maintains field irrigation and drainage systems, and operates and maintains a variety of grounds maintenance equipment such as trucks, mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, etc.; assists in all aspects of maintaining district facilities, and to this end is expected to maintain a good working relationship with other employees; transports gymnastic equipment and stage sets throughout the district and maintains records of equipment location; checks, dismantles and delivers new furniture and equipment throughout the district as required; provides leadership to summer students as required; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in maintaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
