About Provisions Food Agency
Provisions is a modern food agency based in Toronto. We specialize in offsite culinary experiences that blend bold flavour, visual creativity, and refined hospitality. From plated tastings to large-scale events, our menus are designed with intention, seasonality, and care. We’re seeking a Pastry Chef to oversee all pastry and dessert production. This is a hands-on, leadership-level role ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative kitchen environment and takes pride in executing high-quality, scalable desserts that feel thoughtful and beautiful.
Role Overview
As Pastry Chef, you’ll lead all baking, pastry, and dessert production at Provisions. You’ll be responsible for recipe consistency, scaling, and presentation—across a wide range of menus, from plated desserts to composed sweet stations to branded snack offerings. You’ll collaborate with the Head Chef and Founder to develop seasonal offerings and maintain a clean, efficient production system. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, excellent time management, and the ability to prep and present at volume while maintaining elegance and balance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all pastry, baking, and dessert production for events
Maintain consistency in flavour, yield, texture, and presentation
Develop and maintain scaled recipes and batch prep timelines
Collaborate on seasonal dessert R&D and menu development
Execute components for plated desserts, sweet stations, and tastings
Track allergen and dietary labeling and maintain organized storage
Manage inventory and ordering for pastry-related supplies
Maintain cleanliness and food safety across all pastry production areas
Assist in on-site dessert execution as needed (plating, setup, etc.)
Train and manage any junior pastry or prep team support
What We’re Looking For
3–5 years in a pastry or dessert-focused production role
Experience in catering, restaurants, or high-volume execution environments
Strong technical knowledge of baking and pastry fundamentals
Passion for creative, seasonal, and clean dessert design
Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills
Calm under pressure and adaptable to changes in event scale or menu needs
Familiarity with kitchen systems (Google Drive, Meez, batch prep, etc.)
Nice to Have
Experience with plated dessert service or food station concepts
Comfort working with dietary restrictions (GF, vegan, nut-free)
Food styling or visual presentation skills
Familiarity with Rational ovens, blast chillers, and pastry tools
Interest in growing Provisions’ in-house pastry program over time
