Job Title: Grain Inventory Financial Analyst (On Site)

Location: Head Office – Winnipeg

The Grain Inventory Financial Analyst is responsible for management of the book to physical inventory for financial reporting purposes. This relates to both grain and crop inputs product lines at the country elevators and port terminals. They ensure the inventory policy is being adhered to, that adjustments to book inventory are booked in a timely manner and that processes/controls are being executed accordingly. They are responsible for management reporting relating to trend analysis associated with inventory, providing results associated with shipping performance, blending gains/losses, and audit cut-off results. The Grain Inventory Financial Analyst will also participate in and support system enhancements, leading the finance testing to ensure proper controls and results associated with inventory management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Records the results of the inventory cut-offs, ensuring proper process/explanations/document and control
  • Collaborates with the country/terminal team regarding adjustments needing to be made in book inventory
  • Provides trend analysis and management reporting related to inventory, shipping accuracy, and audit results
  • Owns MasterData components as it relates to product setup, storage plans, grade discount tables and inventory
  • Participates in and supports key system enhancements, providing expertise from an inventory management perspective
  • Acts as inventory lead on system testing plans to ensure data integrity, finance processes are not impacted negatively, thorough tests are executed, and internal controls are in tact
  • Supports the country with process questions relating to system functionality, identifying trends as they relate to system issues, training issues or business needs
  • Provides/supports training to the locations on administrative processes as they relate to the Grain and Crop Inputs systems, focusing on inventory management
  • Supports the MasterData Accounting Analyst in monitoring of processes to support a strong internal control environment and mitigation of risk as well as oversees the successful interface process between inventory and ERP systems
  • Collaborates with other departments on program/process development acting as an inventory expert
  • All other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the accounting field
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or other similar field
  • Agricultural experience/ Experience working with all areas within organization
  • System setup/MasterData experience
  • Inventory Management experience
