Who You Are

• Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of confidentiality and healthcare data practices

• Able to interpret legislation and support privacy operations

• Comfortable working across departments to improve registration, documentation and compliance

• Interested in advancing a career in health information governance

What You’ll Do

• Support investigations and documentation of privacy breaches
• Contribute to privacy audits
• Assist with in-person privacy training
• Help maintain privacy logs and internal training materials
• Assist with documentation quality reviews and chart audits
• Work with HIM, IT, and clinical departments to improve data integrity
• Support WAHA’s accreditation and digital health strategy from a privacy and quality lens

What You Bring

• Diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field is required
• Working knowledge of PHIPA and Canadian health privacy legislation
• Willing to obtain Certified Information Privacy Professional certificate
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate in the local native Cree language is an asset
