Night Security Team Lead
The Retail Security Team Lead is responsible for assisting the day-to-day security operations of the site, ensuring the safety and security of personnel, property, and assets. This role includes supporting with the supervision of security staff, enforcing site policies and procedures, responding to incidents, and maintaining a visible and professional security presence at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with supervising and coordinate the activities of security guards on-site.
- Ensure all security personnel adhere to company policies, procedures, and client expectations.
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including stairwells, lobbies, parkade, elevators, and other site-specific areas.
- Monitor site access control and visitor management systems.
- Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, alarms, or suspicious activity and document all occurrences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs, reports, and incident documentation.
- Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to new and existing security staff.
- Ensure proper uniform and grooming standards are followed by the security team.
- Liaise with site management, emergency services, and law enforcement as needed.
- Conduct and assist with incident investigations and prepare detailed reports.
- Ensure that safety signage (e.g., wet floor, snowfall warnings) is placed appropriately and removed when no longer needed.
- Participate in regular safety and security meetings with site and client representatives.
- Support with scheduling and shift coverage as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in security, law enforcement, or a related field is an asset.
- Valid Security License in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Retail security, with at least 1 year in leadership role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to manage stressful or high-pressure situations calmly and effectively.
- Proficient in using security systems, radios, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and emergency procedures.
Work Conditions:
- Must be available for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- May be required to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically able to perform patrols and respond quickly in emergencies.
Schedule: 1900 - 0700 rotational
Fulltime: 42 hours per week
Wage: $25.03
Start Date: January 1st, 2026
