Role and Responsibilities
Strategic Finance Leadership: Partner with executive leadership to support strategic planning, capital investments evaluations, and business case development Build financial models and forecasts, and provide financial analyses and actionable recommendations
Financial Reporting & Governance
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Prepare accurate GAAP/IFRS financial statements, reports, and KPI dashboards Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting activities
Manufacturing Cost Accounting
Oversee standard costing, product costing, inventory valuations, and cost allocations Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead, scrap) Identify cost-saving initiatives and improvement opportunities with Operations Monitor and report production metrics, margins, and operational KPIs
Budgeting & Performance
Lead annual budgeting and long-term planning, and monitor financial performance against targets Deliver timely variance analyses and actionable recommendations Establish operational KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement
Systems & Process Optimization
Lead implementation and enhancement of finance systems, driving ERP optimization and enhancements Automate financial workflows and improve reporting efficiency and strengthening internal control structures
Team Leadership
Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing finance team, including Business Analysts, A/P, and A/R functions Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and professional development plans Foster an organizational culture grounded in accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Active CPA (Canada) designation is required. 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years within a manufacturing environment. Proven expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, standard costing methodologies, and financial reporting. Hands-on experience working with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent enterprise platforms. Strong knowledge of internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Demonstrated ability to lead teams through organizational change and structural ambiguity. Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills. Results-oriented, highly collaborative, with a continuous improvement focus and high ethical standards.
