This position is full-time and is 100% in-office.
Based at our Vancouver plant, The Stock Room - Purchaser is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of inventory systems at the Plant through processing purchase requisitions and reviewing the inventory data on a regular basis. Other responsibilities of the role include managing relationships between the company and customers in a professional manner, and replenishing inventory as needed.
Wage: $35/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source goods & services and create purchase orders for inventory replenishment and direct requisitions in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Review and maintain the accuracy of inventory systems by verifying quantities and checking for shortages and/or overstock
- Ensure that all relevant inventory and associated data is accurate, utilizing a computerized system
- Report any critical shortages to the Purchasing Agent in a timely manner
- Manage activities between vendors and end users, ensuring a high quality experience
- Issue items from the storeroom and help maintain storeroom in an orderly manner
- Work with end users to understand their needs & define specifications
- Operate forklifts as required in a safe and efficient manner
- Perform shift work based on company business needs which evolve and change in response to customer demands
- Work overtime as instructed to ensure minimal downtime of facilities
- Adhere to the company Code of Conduct and all West Coast Reduction Ltd. policies
- Foster a positive team and company culture by ensuring treatment of others is respectful and aligned with company values
- Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS & FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean abstract
- 2-3 years of purchasing and/or inventory management experience, or willingness to learn an asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Experience with ERP systems is an asset
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with excellent communication skills
- Ability to read or interpret diagrams, schematic drawings and manuals to determine work procedures
Functional Requirements
- Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing and reaching overhead above the shoulders daily
- Adaptable to adverse conditions including confined space, heights, cold weather, odours and exposure to animal by-products
