Job Summary

The Key Account Manager - Retail role will report to the Director of Retail Sales and will focus on high-level relationship management and growth within major established retail customer base. This person will act as the primary single point of contact for key national or regional accounts, building deep trust with executive decision-makers to align Hillman’s solutions with their business goals. The Key Account Manager - Retail will identify and close new business opportunities within existing accounts to increase market share and meet aggressive fiscal goals. Critical skills include the ability to manage key relationships, prioritize sales activities and to organize and maintain all monthly sales pipeline, forecasting communications and financial reporting.

Essential Job Functions *

  • Serve as a single-point-of-contact for key accounts; execute all services for client, such as product forecasting, launch implementation, training, and ongoing support.

  • Develop and maintain relationships within assigned accounts; improve client utilization and product/service adoption rates.

  • Collaborate with customer contacts, up to and including senior level executives, in order to define needs and provide solutions.

  • Identify and target new business sales opportunities that close quickly for the highest revenue.

  • Promote and maintain the organization's brand image and identity within the marketplace.

  • Provide input and assist in development of presentations and other marketing collateral.

  • Create and conduct in-depth sales presentations that highlight key benefits, ROI, and value the company's products/services.

  • Assist in the creation of product training plans for sales representatives.

  • Identify and resolve risks associated with the delivery and/or provision of customer contracts; manage client expectations throughout the contract.

  • Pursue contract renewals.

  • Ensure overall client satisfaction.

  • Conduct and develop quarterly and annual account reviews in order to effectively manage account lifecycles.

  • Analyze, assess, and document client results to ensure customer needs are being met.

  • Promote awareness of new products and services to accounts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent serves as an asset.

  • 2-5 years of project/account management experience recommended.

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to make sales deals with executive level prospects.

  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, other stakeholders.

  • Experience selling multiple product/service lines.

  • Able to effectively communicate key information to all audiences.

  • Skilled at assessing client needs, developing proposals, and delivering solutions.

  • Knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.

  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.

Operational Equipment

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle

The target salary range for this role is around $80k to $85k.
