Salary Range: $63,347 to $116,190 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

**Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: **

  • Extensive academic training, professional preparation and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment with a Masters Degree in Counselling.
  • Leadership ability and training to support Safe Schools work with regards to threat assessment (VTRA process) and Critical Incident Support.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to coordinate and facilitate professional development and in-service to train and teach adults Tier 1 and 2 strategies and techniques to support students with disabilities, diverse needs, mental health, trauma and behaviour needs at conferences, pro-d events, training events and staff meetings.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, curriculum (core and curricular competencies), teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
  • Extensive experience and leadership in supporting students, parents and staff using the Ministry of Education, Special Education Policies, Procedures and Guidelines with regards to students with disabilities and diverse needs at the elementary, middle and secondary levels.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with FESL data including EDI, MDI, Student Learning Survey, FSA, attendance, transitions etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in supporting teachers as they develop learning plans (CBIEP, SSP, PBSP) that meet the needs of students with disabilities and diverse needs and mental health support.
  • Demonstrated working understanding of district-wide information systems including My Education BC and Ed Plan Insight.
  • Knowledge of research and best practice in instructional strategies, programs and resources to meet the needs of a broad range of students with disabilities and diverse needs and/or needing mental health supports.
  • Demonstrated understanding of a systems approach to instruction and intervention (e.g. RTI, UDL).
  • Demonstrated ability to design and support Tier 1 & 2 interventions and strategies for students with disabilities and diverse needs and/or needing mental health suppports within the classroom (Co-teaching, co-planning, clustering, push-in and pull-out).
  • Experience of collaboration with school-based staff, parents, district personnel, and community partners, such as CCS, MCFD, CYMH, ADTP, PCRS, Fraser Health & FVACFSS.
  • Demonstrated ability in the areas of intake, transition and MOE identification of students with disabilities and diverse needs and/or mental health needs (K-12).
  • Excellent skills in communication, consultation, coaching and collaboration with a range of multi-disciplinary personnel.
  • Applicants must possess a valid BC Driver's License and have the use of a vehicle
