West Meadow Elementary School located in Claresholm, Alberta is seeking to employ the very best school based staff in Alberta! The successful candidate will have knowledge of child development and the importance of play. The successful candidate will understand and follow Early Learning and Child Care Licensing Regulations.
The successful candidate will have:
- Level 1 Early Childhood Educator or higher or willingness to complete funded certification
- Current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search
- Current Intervention Record Check
Desired Qualifications and Attributes:
- Knowledge of child development and experience working with children ages 5-12 years old.
- Responsibilities may include toileting and/or diapering
- Provide a play based learning environment guided by “Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework”
- Work within the community Preschool and the Elementary School to provide an inclusive environment.
- Work collaboratively with the Early Learning Coordinator and the school principal/ designate.
- Local knowledge and experience with culture and traditions
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, parents and staff
- Have a willingness to participate in professional learning activities
- Have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid First Aid certificate is an asset
