GL R2R SPECIALIST – DANSTAR FERMENT A.G.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

Joining the Corporate Finance/Accounting team means being part of a team that works passionately and tirelessly to support all operational business units by providing high-quality and timely financial information.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the R2R Supervisor of the legal entity “Danstar Ferment AG,” the GL Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of accounting entries, compliance with financial standards, and the production of reliable reports. They will be instrumental in closing processes, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the R2R department.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, analyze, and record monthly journal entries, including provisions, adjustments, and reallocations
  • Ensure general ledger account reconciliation and timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Perform account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
  • Actively participate in monthly and annual closing processes
  • Collaborate with FP&A, AP, AR, and Tax & Treasury teams to ensure financial data integrity
  • Support the T&T team in preparing monthly tax claims (e.g., VAT)
  • Assist internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Maintain compliance with applicable internal accounting policies
  • Support the T&T team in preparing cash flow forecasts and bank reconciliations
  • Resolve accounting issues related to ERP systems (Unix, Lewis, etc.)
  • Respond to statistical surveys (e.g., Statistics Canada)
  • Provide support to other GL team members and ensure coverage during absences
  • Contribute to the improvement of accounting processes and workflow optimization
  • Participate in special projects and implementation of new procedures

GENERAL CRITERIA

Required

  • University or post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in operational accounting, shared services, or R2R processes
  • Strong understanding of general ledger processes and intercompany transactions
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Unix, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual (French/English) preferred

An asset

  • CPA designation or in progress is an asset
