Job Description
We are looking for a Queen's University Student who is interested in Sustainability for a part-time job opportunity with Hospitality Services for Aramark Canada. The successful candidate will work directly with the Resident District Manager and Queen’s Wellness and Sustainability Manager on specific assigned projects and events within the food service locations on campus and provide recommendations to Hospitality Services based on student feedback and help implement best practices.
This is a part-time position to begin this fall semester. Work shifts will be flexible and may include some evenings and weekends. Successful candidates must be able to work during peak lunch and dinner times at the dining halls and retail locations with shifts that would be 3-4 hours.
Job Responsibilities

- Assist in the creation of marketing content (ie. social media videos) to educate students on sustainable practices in Residence dining and Retail operations (ie. participation in GOOD TO GO initiative and reusable cup program, reducing food waste, etc).<br>- Engage in various platforms to communicate to students the benefits of sustainable practices.<br>- Educate students on proper use of self-sort waste streams on campus and encourage strategies to reduce food waste.<br>- Assist in execution and promotion of the “Good to Go” program” in retail locations.<br>- Share information and key areas that impact waste reduction and resource conservation<br>- Scheduled 2 times/week to engage students and discuss initiatives<br>- Gather feedback from the student/campus community and report said feedback in order to evaluate concerns, positive feedback, potential challenges, etc.<br>- Assist in conducting waste audits for specific meal periods to assess post-consumer waste and document results, including changes in patterns/behaviors<br>- Assist with implementation of sustainability programs and initiatives in order to contribute to objectives relevant to the sustainability goals of Housing & Ancillary Services and the University.<br>- Complete relevant administrative tasks which may include collecting and presenting data, filing reports, and other administrative tasks as required and assigned. |

Qualifications
- A passion for sustainability and enthusiasm to share the benefits of sustainable practices with peers
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, communication skills (written & verbal) and organizational skills
- Ability (typo corrected) to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of food services programs and facilities at Queen’s University dining locations
- Previous experience in the hospitality industry or customer service is an asset.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
