Hourly Wage: $21 per hour. Over and above the base wage and the benefits highlighted above, this position is also eligible for commissions on sales.

Position Summary

The main goal of a Travel Consultant is to sell an entire package to guests, including accommodations, activities and transportation, through on-line chat, email and phone. Travel Consultants cultivate a strong relationship with their customer database and build on our high level of service to generate and maintain sales levels.

This role requires weekend coverage as part of the regular work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Tourism Whistler and Whistler.com ambassador, living our purpose and vision with passion & energy, achievement and respect
  • Answer inbound calls, provide quotes to online vacation requests, and answer customer questions, emails & voice mails
  • Execute various outbound calls including concierge, up sell calls, informational and customer focused
  • Effectively communicate with Online Chat inquiries, quotes and actively pursue sales leads generated via the online chat with guests
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales goals on a daily, weekly & monthly basis
  • Communicate effectively with clients, vendors and colleagues
  • Respond to all guests in a timely, professional and friendly manner

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent knowledge of Whistler
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to stay organized and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, through the telephone, on-line chat and email
  • Commitment to customer service
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Skilled problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • A team player who can also work independently
  • Computer skills including MS Office, and a variety of cloud based software
