This position is a combination of full scope of practice to clients on LTC, AC and ED units in the Myron Thompson Health Centre. Duties and responsibilities are within the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) scope of practice and in collaboration with the interpersonal team. Rural nursing experience is an asset. The Myron Thompson Health Centre is an intimate team environment providing care with 14 acute care beds, 5 long term care beds, 3 flex beds and a five-stretcher emergency department. We serve the Town of Sundre Alberta (http://www.sundre.com/) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsqd4FBKwFg), the surrounding rural districts of Mountain View County (http://www.mountainviewcounty.com/) and Clearwater County (http://www.clearwatercounty.ca/).
Description
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse Union: AUPE AUX Unit and Program: acute care, long term care, emergency Primary Location: Myron Thompson Health Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.73 Posting End Date: 17-AUG-2026 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 27-AUG-2026 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 44 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $33.16 Maximum Salary: $43.42 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable
Required Qualifications
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications
Completion of courses consistent with full scope of practice, including IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration as an asset. Minimum 1 to 2 years medical/surgical experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with the interprofessional team. Demonstrated understanding, patience, and sensitivity in relating to patients and their families. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
