The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for two Temporary Full-Time Senior Parks Operators.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Parks and Open Spaces, the Senior Parks Operator is responsible for the implementation of all activities associated with Parks operations and the maintenance of all Town maintained grass or the Tottenham Conservation Area, and the delivery of customer service excellence.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for Service Requests and Work Orders issued to the Parks Business unit. Making sure these Work Orders are completed properly with ELM and assets appropriately included.
- Prepare and monitor staff work schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and addressing scheduling conflicts.
- Organize and lead team meetings, preparing agendas and minutes and following up on items to be addressed.
- Oversee the delivery of maintenance and operational services as assigned. Ensure parks areas are clean and that equipment is in proper operational order.
- Assign specific duties to the Operators.
- Oversee the work of contractors who are completing work, ensuring work is completed in a safe, timely and efficient manner, reporting any inconsistencies to the Supervisor.
- Provide input into and implements more efficient processes for serving the public and operations and updating and/or developing policies and procedures.
- Work with other staff to address any issues that arise, which effect customer service and to be cognizant of programming schedules in order to ensure proper scheduling, cleaning and that set ups and take downs are completed in a timely manner.
- Carry out, monitor and record preventative maintenance inspections. Operate, log, maintain, repair and adjust mechanical equipment, and building equipment, including lighting, building automation, cooling, heating and ventilation.
- Ensure required supplies are ordered and on hand as needed working within the parameters of the Purchasing By-Law. Ensure payroll information is completed accurately, within required timelines, and approves bi-weekly payroll.
What you bring to the team:

Requires a high school diploma.

Requires a valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C certification.

Requires a Class G driver’s licence, and the ability to submit a clean driver’s abstract upon hire.

Requires 3 to 5 years’ experience in a recreation facility or parks environment.

Effective organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills in order to complete work efficiently and in a timely manner.

Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The ability to lead and motivate an effective team.

Intermediate ability with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
Pay Rate:$29.91 - $35.19, plus 4% vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
**Hours:**40 Hours per week
**Start Date:**April 27, 2026
