**CHILD & YOUTHCARE WORKER **** **********CUPE Competition No. 6179
Location:** **District –South
Temporary**:**** I mmediatelytoJune 26, 2026, or return of Incumbent, whichever occurs first**
Hours:** 8hours per day,for alldays****school is in session for students
****Rate of Pay: **** **********$33.04/hour
** Duties & Responsibilities: **
Under the general direction of the Director of Instruction: Learning Services
(with a functional reporting relationship with school principals), provides
guidance, ongoing assistance, encouragement and support to vulnerable students
in developing and achieving positive behaviour supports, personal and life
skill goals through accessing approved district and community programs.
Assignment will be to support students primarily with their emotional needs
and to make connections and collaborate with families and community agencies
in order to provide further support for the students. Outdoor education,
alcohol/drug counselling, family support training, and youth support training
are definite assets.
**Qualifications: **
- Successful completion of Grade 12, a two-year certificate in Child and Youth Care and over 6 months up to and including one year experience
- Knowledge of basic First Aid
- Valid B.C. driver's license
**Competition ClosesFridayMarch6,2026,**at 4:00 p.m.
