Job Description

What is the opportunity?

The Senior Structured Investments Trader is a professional utilizing in depth product knowledge and expertise to promote, create and select Structured Note offerings for the RBC Wealth Management network of Financial Advisors (FA's). This trader would join a proactive team who, through education and idea generation, drives productivity and delivers excellence in pricing, product knowledge and service to our FA’s with focus on their clients’ best interest.

What will you do?

  • Display a high level of awareness of market conditions, news and research to uncover value and timely investment opportunities.
  • Proactively provide FA’s with actionable investment ideas, strategies, and swap opportunities.
  • Provide guidance to FA’s regarding product education, client investment implementation, and custom note inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Structured Note Issuers to promote cohesive partnerships and workflow.
  • Work collaboratively with Fixed Income Strategies, Business Development, and other Fixed Income Trading desks to share ideas, assure cohesiveness of message and maximize value for clients.
  • Create and disseminate internal marketing highlights of current offerings.
  • Execute secondary trades in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Assist in pre-trade new issue security setup and post-trade reporting and monitoring, as needed.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related fields.
  • 5+ years in Fixed Income and/or Equity market experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of fixed income markets, equities, commodities, economics, and marketing strategies.
  • Proficient with Bloomberg and Microsoft Excel.
  • Series 7 & 66 or 63 licenses or acquire within 90 days.

Nice-to-have

  • 5+ years of trading experience.
  • Prior experience in various fixed income or equity markets.
  • Proficiency with Tradeweb and other investment software packages.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $65,000 - $115,000, depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
