ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity to join passionate multi-disciplinary award-winning team to make a difference. We are digitally transforming the core urban development review process by building and enhancing a solution called York Trax to ensure York Region continues to provide critical services to a rapidly growing population.
We are customer focused team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Team members are empowered to shape the design and delivery of functional requirements, working in fast-faced, iterative cycles using the tools and techniques best suited to solving complex challenges.
We are looking for Business Analyst with strong skills in requirements management – gathering, fine tuning, testing and documentation. You are a curious, motivated, professional and communicative professional who thrives on translating business needs into actionable technical solutions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

You will describe, define and help design new business needs, both at a planned and ad-hoc basis, to digitize and transform processes

You will support timely enhancements to York Trax through requirements documentation and analysis (using various techniques including wireframes and prototypes), and their delivery through testing and implementation

You will bring your project and change management knowledge to the support communications and training to the user community

You will work independently and in small cross-functional teams, and may lead or contribute to various elements of York Trax
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You have a college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline, plus three (3) years of pertinent experience. You have demonstrated experience in helping business staff articulate their technology needs in varying business sectors and have successfully implemented process digitization and projects leveraging your fundamental knowledge of data modeling and technical architecture. You can communicate well – spoken and written – and use communication tools effectively.
You understand ideation, planning and including disciplined agile and grasp current technology trends. Ideally, you have subject matter knowledge in on or more areas: planning, finance, Health or Transportation. Any accreditation, such as Certificate in Business Analysis, or Agile Analysis Certification is noteworthy but not required.
