About the role

Employment Youth Worker(s) – Out-of-Home Care Program

Position Status
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Youth Worker (s) to join our team to work in a specialized Out-of-Home Care program for young women ages 12 to 17 years of age, impacted by sexual exploitation. At Creighton, we take pride in a strong, trauma-responsive culture that balances high-quality care for youth with genuine support for staff. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values professional growth, shared responsibility, and wellness in the workplace. We will be hiring for full-time, in-person positions as well as for casual work, located in Kenora, Ontario.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and health & safety standards, applied through a trauma-responsive lens.
  • Understands the harm reduction model for this specialized population.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting equity-deserving youth populations, including but not limited to sexually exploited young women, 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, Indigenous and racialized youth.
  • Committed to a supportive workplace culture that balances accountability with care for youth well-being.
  • Knowledge of Child, Youth and Family Services Act will be an asset
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Clear Broad Records Check.
  • Successful completion of Crisis Intervention certification.
  • Must be able to work shift work.

Qualifications

  • Child and Youth Worker Diploma preferred from an accredited College or University
  • Candidates with the following qualifications may also be considered: H.B.S.W., B.S.W., B.A. Sociology or Psychology, Onajigawin Indigenous Services Diploma, Social Services Worker Diploma, Developmental Service Worker Diploma.
  • Candidates with lived experiences may be considered as this perspective strengthens outreach and advocacy work.
  • Specialized training or certifications in trauma-informed care, sexual exploitation, or related areas considered an asset.

Compensation & Benefits as per CUPE Collective Agreement
Current Salary: $61,888 – $75,126 annually (equivalent to $29.64 – $35.98 per hour)
