Work Schedule - Successful candidates must be available until September 30, 2026 - Day and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday including scheduled Saturday and Sunday shifts Major Job Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Uses a schedule to effectively prepare and maintain picnic sites, sports fields, and open spaces at busy multi-use parks Performs routine checks, cleaning, opening and closing of public washroom sites Regular changing of park garbages and routine litter collection Prepares materials before and after large special events and ensures grounds are well maintained during events Ensures picnic sites are cleaned and free of debris users Operates sports field lights as per scheduled use Provides excellent customer service to park users and acts as a point of contact for renters of sports fields, picnic sites, and special events Complies with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act Performs all other duties in a professional manner as assigned in accordance with Department objectives Education & Experience Minimum Secondary School Diploma Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s Licensewith a satisfactory driving record Ability to interpret a user schedule and manage time effectively Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills and is comfortable dealing with members of the public Ability to work well independently with minimal supervision Ability to work outside in inclement weather Must be able to perform manual labour including lifting upto 50 pounds Preferred Previous parks operations experience Current Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR and WHMIS Hourly Rate: $26.40 - $28.51 Note to Applicants This posting is for an existing job vacancy.
