The Business Continuity, Senior Advisor will spearhead the creation and oversight of a robust Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, emphasizing the resilience of the global supply chain network and the continuity of third-party suppliers and partners. This role will drive the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and governance framework, focusing on mitigating risks across the supply chain, executing a multi-year resilience roadmap, and fostering seamless integration of continuity practices through effective communication, testing, and training. As the primary liaison between the supply chain organization, external suppliers, and enterprise stakeholders including enterprise risk management and business continuity teams. This position ensures strategic alignment and collaboration to minimize disruptions and strengthen the organization's global supply chain resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Functional Business Continuity Strategy: Develops and implements functional business continuity strategies across the extended supply chain, identifying critical business functions, conducting Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), and establishing short-term workarounds to ensure operational resilience.
- Business Continuity Strategy and Roadmap: Creates a comprehensive business continuity strategy for the supply chain organization global partner network, aligned with enterprise goals, and executes a multi-year roadmap to enhance BCM maturity, addresses gaps, and ensures long-term resilience across Zebra’s global partner operations.
- Third-Party BCP Management: Vets, validates, and oversees third-party Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and disaster recovery exercises, ensuring alignment with Zebra’s resiliency standards and industry best practices.
- Partner and Supplier Quantitative Assessments: Conducts quantitative assessments of global partners and suppliers’ Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), assigning scores based on predefined BCP metrics, converting results into a standardized scorecard, and reviewing outcomes during quarterly business reviews to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement.
- Continuity Governance and Structure: Creates and maintains a governance framework for business continuity within the supply chain organization, including policies, standards, and processes to ensure consistent and effective BCM practices.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Builds and maintains strong relationships with supply chain leadership, third-party vendors, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements, aligns on priorities, and drives BCM maturity.
- Program Standards and Maturity: Maintains and enhances BCM program standards, ensuring compliance with DRII standards. Continuously improves program maturity through audits, client responses (RFP/RFI), and leadership reporting.
- Risk Assessments: Conducts third-party and external continuity risk assessments, and guides stakeholders in understanding risks and implementing mitigation strategies to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Incident Playbooks and Management: Develops incident playbooks to address a range of disruption scenarios and ensure cohesive alignment to direct and indirect supply chain partners.
- Incident and Crisis Response: Leads or supports incident response and crisis management efforts, collaborating with Zebra leadership and functional teams to minimize business impact during disruptions.
- Documentation and Communication: Creates and shares documentation of business continuity checklists, plans, procedures, and recovery strategies, ensuring clear communication and accessibility for all relevant stakeholders across the extended supply chain and global partner network.
- Testing and Exercises: Plans and conducts regular functional testing and exercises to evaluate the efficiency of business continuity plans, identifies areas for improvement, and ensures readiness for disruptions. Facilitates mock exercises for crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response, focusing on primary production and delivery imperatives, and associated third-party dependencies.
- Training and Integration: Develops and delivers training programs to ensure business continuity considerations are integrated into daily operations, projects, and IT systems, fostering a culture of resilience across the organization
Remote candidates will be considered. Able to travel up to 25% Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 12+ years of relevant experience including direct business continuity with a focus in Business Continuity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Emergency Management, Incident Management, and/or Risk Management. Comparable experience in public agency or military continuous operations planning
Preferred Skills & Competencies:
- Leadership Experience in Business Resumption Planning, Crisis Management Planning, Incident Response Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, Plan Exercising/Testing,
- Conducting BIAs
- Experience in performing BC audits or in managing and coordinating Incident Response to a major, unplanned disruptive event that required activation of the BC/DR/Incident or Crisis Management Plans
- Strong working knowledge of global manufacturing and supply chain organization
- Ability to conduct risk workshops, risk assessments, and guide the business to understand their risks and mitigation activities needed
- Facilitation, development in crisis management, business continuity and emergency response mock exercises
- Experience in business continuity best practices, management systems and tools
- Understanding of basic regulatory requirements such as ISO or OSHA and knowledge of industry standards
- Ensures a high-level of collaboration and communication with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Ability to interact with a variety of internal and external people, including senior executives, in a professional manner that creates confidence in his/her knowledge and abilities and helps foster mutually satisfactory resolution to control gaps and issues
- Demonstrate the ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends as well as to drive tactical execution
- Excellent strategic, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Advanced presentation skills
- Strong level skills in Microsoft business applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and Visio
- Intermediate data analysis skills
- Strong people / team leadership and communication skills with the ability to lead, coach and inspire others to engage in business continuity principles
- Certified professional designations (CBCP, MBCI, etc.) obtained or will obtain 12 months after hire
- MBA/Master’s degree

Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
