This position will be on site 100% of the time. Position Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for setting up, implementing, and maintaining the quality control system for the whole manufacturing process, from incoming materials to finished products. Act as the technical reference for mechanical quality, and propose improvements to production processes, methods, and layouts to ensure reliable, competitive products that meet customer and company requirements. Works closely with the Engineering Manager and the Factory Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Define and implement quality control procedures and inspection plans for incoming materials, in-process operations, and finished goods, ensuring alignment with engineering specifications and company standards. Perform and/or oversee dimensional, visual, and functional inspections and tests on components and assembled products, verifying compliance with drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria, and supporting production personnel in applying quality standards. Detect, record, and analyze internal non-conformities, perform root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa, etc.), and define, coordinate, and follow up corrective and preventive actions in collaboration with Production and Engineering, including investigations related to customer complaints. Define and monitor key quality indicators (scrap/rejection, rework, customer returns/complaints), prepare regular reports for the Director of Operations with analysis and improvement proposals, and contribute to cost-of-quality analysis and initiatives to reduce quality-related costs. Develop and maintain up-to-date inspection procedures, test instructions, checklists, and recording forms, ensuring all inspection and test activities comply with health and safety regulations. Identify opportunities to optimize quality control checkpoints, improve layout (workstations, material flow, test stations), refine work instructions, and propose and support process improvements that enhance product quality and overall efficiency. Provide basic training and guidance to production and engineering staff on quality standards, inspection methods, and good practices, helping to strengthen a strong quality culture on the shop floor. Collaborate with the Engineering department in design reviews and the introduction of new or modified products, ensuring that quality requirements, inspection criteria, and test methods are clearly defined and feasible in production.
