About the role
Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support property maintenance operations across residential and commercial assets. This role is responsible for performing routine and emergency repairs, conducting inspections, and supporting preventative maintenance programs. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with site managers, property managers, and contractors to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery across all building systems and facilities. The ideal candidate will bring over 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To
- Participate in a 24-hour on-call emergency program, including evenings and weekends
- Perform repairs and renovations in suites and common areas (drywall, flooring, painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
- Troubleshoot and repair appliances, HVAC, boilers, and mechanical systems
- Conduct turnover inspections and make-ready repairs for vacant units
- Maintain inventory records and assist with supply coordination
- Monitor contractor work and ensure compliance with company standards
- Communicate effectively with site managers, tenants, and vendors
- Complete service requests safely and efficiently
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and reporting
- Follow procedures for purchase orders and work orders
- Ensure compliance with OHS legislation and report issues promptly
Your strengths include:
- 5+ years of residential and/or commercial maintenance experience
- General knowledge of building systems and preventative maintenance
- Advanced understanding of Alberta Building Codes
- Certifications in WHMIS, CSTS, and First Aid
- Ability to assess and respond to emergency repair situations
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency in using hand tools safely and effectively
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
