About the role
Your role will involve:
- Following safety instructions
- Meeting quality and productivity standards
- Following directions from the trainer, foremen, or work partner
Welding:
- Complete ADF’s initial training
- Practice various welding processes (FCAW 1/16 and 5/64, from 200 to 500 amps)
- Interpret welding procedures and symbols
- Perform fillet and groove welds on production parts
Assembly:
- Learn to read fabrication drawings and work methods
- Become familiar with tools
- Empty the detail bin and place pieces correctly
- Prepare parts (cleaning and beveling)
- Mark and assemble subassemblies
- Assist the assembler in fabricating parts
- Adjust welding parameters and perform tack welds (FCAW or SMAW)
- Operate overhead cranes (10 to 50 tons) to turn or move parts
- Perform other related tasks such as preheating, thermal straightening, oxy-cutting, etc.
Required profile:
- Eligible for a final program internship in welding and assembly
