Reporting to the Engineering, Automation and Maintenance Director at the Simons Campus, the Engineering & Maintenance Coordinator works closely with the operations, maintenance, engineering and technology teams, as well as with external partners, to support the performance and reliability of automated systems.

The coordinator contributes to daily technical support activities, continuous improvement initiatives and engineering project management, including technical follow-up, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets and technical standards.

The role combines a technical component (analysis, optimization and equipment support) with a coordination and management component (vendor follow-up, purchasing, invoicing and project tracking). The position is also part of a technical succession plan for the Engineering, Automation and Maintenance Director at the Simons Campus.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Automated Systems

  • Analyze automated processes to optimize operational performance.
  • Identify technical and operational issues and participate in implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects related to equipment, processes and operational flows.
  • Support performance, capacity and equipment reliability analyses.
  • Contribute to the drafting and improvement of technical standards and procedures.

Maintenance Support & Equipment Reliability

  • Provide technical follow-up for automated systems.
  • Coordinate certain technical follow-ups with vendors and external partners.
  • Support the planning of technical work and system improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at improving reliability and preventive maintenance.

Administrative Management & Operational Follow-Up

  • Monitor purchase orders for parts, services and technical equipment.
  • Track technical expenses and support budget monitoring.
  • Maintain tracking tools up to date (maintenance, projects, capital investments).

Coordination & Communication

  • Participate in operational and technical follow-up meetings.
  • Ensure clear communication regarding the status of technical issues and projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) status with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (strong asset).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Client-oriented approach.
  • Strong communication skills and team spirit.
  • Detail-oriented and rigorous.
  • Bilingual (French and English) to interact professionally with service providers across various Canadian provinces.
