About the role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events and Operations, the Operations Supervisor will oversee the set-up of TD Place arena and stadium for all types of events. In addition, they will manage part-time operations staff as they complete tasks related to the set-up and maintenance of the facility while ensuring adherence to all safety procedures and protocols on a daily basis. This full-time, permanent role has an annual salary range of $50,800 to $60,900, with 100% employer-paid benefits. The final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This is a replacement position and is located fully on-site.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee and ensure the set-up of TD Place and Lansdowne Park events is completed accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Lead the operations staff, participate in facility conversion activities (set-ups, tear downs) and other projects.
  • Motivate and supervise unionized part-time staff according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Ensure adherence to all workplace polices as set out in the CBA or otherwise.
  • Create and manage monthly schedules of part-time operations staff to keep within operational budgets. Assist with recruitment and training, as needed.
  • Collaborate with event production staff to develop facility conversion plans and oversee the fulfillment of plans while providing regular updates to management.
  • Coordinate various projects related to facility maintenance, seasonal activities, upgrades, etc and provide reports to management.
  • Identify and document equipment in need of repair. Informs facilities management so that repairs can be appropriately scheduled; carry out minor repairs, as needed.
  • Maintain the quarterly inventory report. Ensure storage warehouses are properly organized and all inventory (i.e. tools, hardware, etc.) is accounted for and properly maintained and stored.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with department staff, and complete appropriate documentation for submission.
  • Maintain the highest level of safety, quality control, and attention to detail.
  • Recruit, train, and on-board, new Part-Time employees.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and pristine presentation of TD Place and Lansdowne Park at all times, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

What you need:

  • Completion of High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience supervising a team in a related setting.
  • Experience using programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of applicable workplace health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Experience reading, understanding and executing work according to blueprints, drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience preparing reports and documenting activities with superior attention to detail.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50lb. At times, work may require significant physical effort including prolonged periods of walking. climbing stairs and lifting materials and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of provincial Health and Safety requirements, and WHMIS.
  • Able and willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
